Want to know your Dosha?  Here's a quick guide.

Vata Characteristics (Ether + Air) The Mover & Shaker. They are generally light, thin, dry, energetic, fragile, prone to irregular digestion, brittle, and airy.  Creative and imaginative, Vata is always ready to be on the go moving, interested, and excited.  Routine is best with staying warm and using oil internally and externally to prevent it from getting too dry.

It is intimately connected with the nervous and respiratory systems.  Disorders and imbalances of Vata Dosha can lead to insomnia, anxiety, arthritis, and other illnesses.

Pitta Characteristics (Fire + Water) The Charger.  They are dynamic, muddy, fiery-tempered, ambitious, bold, medium-built, prone to oily skin, and have strong digestion.

It is intimately connected to the circulatory, endocrine, and digestive systems.  Disorder and imbalance of the Pitta dosha can lead to inflammation, fever, hair loss, diarrhea, high blood pressure, liver problems, and other diseases.

Kapha Characteristics (Earth + Water) The Stabilizer.  They are generally slow, steady, calm, heavy, easygoing, oily skin, smooth, thick, cold, and slower digestion.

They are the most stable of the doshas.  Kapha is loving and grounded.  Slow to start but deliberate choice and around for the long haul; you would want Kapha to be in your corner.

It is intimately connected with the immune system and lymphatic system.  Disorders and imbalances of Kapha dosha can lead to low energy, depression, obesity, gout, diabetes, and other illnesses.
