The Bukidnons of Panay from Garangan, Calinog, Iloilo also known as "Manugtubok"  have kept their unique traditional needlework and cloth patching art known as Panubok. The term Panubok comes from the root word "tubok," meaning to push a needle.

Various Panubok designs are inspired by nature’s elements and objects. For example, Binangkaw designs are inspired by the spear edge, or “bangkaw,” used in hunting wild pigs. Other designs include Sudikama, which depicts python skin; Sikag-sikag, resembling fish bones; Matangpunay, inspired by the eyes of the Punay bird (yellow-breasted fruit dove); and Binunghay, representing fern patterns. These intricate figures are meticulously embroidered on textiles made from Iloilo cotton.
