・Gold-filled is a material with a core made of an alloy of metals, mainly brass, coated with a 5% gold alloy, or one-twentieth of the total weight of the metal. Compared to gold plating, gold filled has a much thicker layer of gold alloy coating, it is superior in terms of durability, and there is little concern that the plating will flake off quickly as with gold plating.
